  • Visit Florida announced that Florida remained the top destination for domestic tourism last year increasing the share of domestic tourists to 14.8% from 13.8% in the prior year. Florida ranked 2nd in international tourism last year and Visit Florida notes that as of March of this year international tourism to Florida exceeded prepandemic levels for the first time.  
  • The Florida Department of Health announced that all canals and waterways surrounding the April 15th sewer main break near Florida Mango Road and the L-10 canal in Lake Worth Beach are safe. The rupture occurred when an AT&T worker was installing fiber optic cable in the area. Conversley... 
  • The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the water quality in the Intracoastal in West Palm Beach following the discovery of a large red patch of water near the shoreline. Water samples have been taken.  
  • West Palm Beach’s award-winning GreenMarket will return early this year. Starting Thursday, during Clematis by Night, a GreenMarket called “The Mini”, will operate from 6p to 9p at the City’s waterfront. The Mini will run from this Thursday through June 27th.  
  • Today will be one of the hottest days thus far this year with highs in the upper 80’s, which is about five degrees higher than usual for this date and still hotter temperatures are in store after today with 90’s on the way later in the week.  
  • Gas prices dropped three cents per gallon on Monday. The average price statewide for regular unleaded is currently $3.67 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.77 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.64 and in Indian River County the average is $3.54 per gallon.
