After a Cinderella type of season, the FAU Owls have made it back to the NCAA Tournament.

Florida Atlantic has captured the 8th seed in the East region for this year's men's basketball tournament after a 25-8 season.

It's the Owls' third appearance in March Madness, after making it to the Final Four for the first time last year.

FAU is coming off an upset to Temple in the American Athletic Conference tournament. Head Coach Dusty May tells CBS 12 News what his team will need to bounce back from that loss.

"We're going to have to take care of the basketball better than we did in Fort Worth and we're going to have to pick up our defensive intensity and defensive pressure."

The Owls will face 9-seed Northwestern in Brooklyn on Friday.

In addition to FAU, two other teams from the Sunshine State have made it to the tournament.

The Gators are the 7-seed in the South and Stetson is making their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance. They're a 16-seed in the East.

Florida will play on Friday against the winner of the Colorado-Boise State play-in game.

Stetson will face UCONN, the winner of the 2023 tournament, on Friday.
