Florida ranks the 16th most expensive state in the nation when it comes to operating a motor vehicle. 

This according to a new Bankrate.com report, which took into account the costs of gas, insurance, repairs, taxes and fees. 

The bad: The state pays the fourth highest premiums in the country for car insurance.  The average annual premium around the nation is $762.  Florida drivers are paying on average $1,042.

The good: Florida ranked near the bottom of the list for the amount of taxes and fees that drivers have to pay.
