Christmas is supposed to be a day for families to come together, but Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg says there was a large number of domestic violence cases on Christmas and Christmas Eve.

Several domestic violence suspects went before a judge Christmas morning.  Aronberg says most of the domestic violence cases he sees are fueled by alcohol.

Some of the victims showed up in court yesterday, asking for their husbands and boyfriends to be let out of jail.  Aronberg says in some cases the victims of the domestic violence stop cooperating with authorities.

But prosecutors still usually move ahead because often times there is other evidence they can use.
