Governor Rick Scott is expected to bring up big flood insurance rate hikes when he meets with President Obama in Washington.

He's hoping that a face-to-face meeting with the president will help stop a potential boost in how much residents here pay for flood insurance.

Congress is looking over a bill to cut back on how much the government pays to keep insurance rates low.

Those in favor of the bill say it will cut back on the millions in debt that the federal flood insurance program is in, but local lawmakers say without that money, the people of Palm Beach and other coastal areas would be paying a lot more.
