If the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals want to hold their spring training in West Palm Beach, they might want to make a move soon.

Mayor Jeri Muoio has confirmed to the Palm Beach Post that three other non-baseball firms have made what she calls "unsolicited bids" for the land south of 45th Street, between Military Trail and Haverhill Road.

The city values the property at about $12 million.

Muoio didn't elaborate on the businesses interested.

The Major League Baseball teams have considered several other locations throughout Palm Beach County.

While many believe the addition of two more teams playing their spring training games here would boost tourism dollars, officials are trying to figure out how much building a facility would cost taxpayers.
