Snowbirds Not Flocking To South Florida This Year

The end of the Thanksgiving holiday usually means the beginning of Snowbird season, but not this year. Thanks to the pandemic, land crossings at the border between the U-S and Canada have been banned since March and all Canadians have been advised to avoid all non-essential travel. Bill Talbert with -the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau- says he's not worried about a down season, they're using CARES Act money to launch a new campaign called "MiamiLand" to lure domestic travelers here. He says once the COVID-19 vaccine is readily available, he expects tourists to flock to South Florida in droves.
