Florida Agriculture Commissioner Putnam Runs For Governor

Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam has officially entered the race for Governor.

Rick Scott will be termed out of office next year and Republican Putnam is the first major Republican candidate to enter the race.

He served five terms in Congress before being elected to his current seat in 2010 for the first time.

Two Democrats have jumped in the race...Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and businessman Chris King from Orlando.

Former Democratic Tallahassee Congresswoman Gwen Graham is expected Tuesday to announce her run for governor.  She's the daughter of former Florida Governor and U.S. Senator Bob Graham.

Pundits expect Scott to run for the U.S. Senate next year, and while he hasn't confirmed that, he also won't rule it out.

Democrat Senator Bill Nelson is up for re-election in 2018.
