As the school year wraps up, high school graduates who don't have jobs and aren't heading to college have another option...they can take part in the Summer Internship program with CareerSource Palm Beach County.
We first told you about this a few years ago and the program is still going strong.
It's open for those between the ages of 17 and 24 and aimed at providing paid work experience in several different business sectors.
Local business owners get access to young men and women who are willing to learn and CareerSource covers the cost to pay them.
The program runs for five weeks, beginning July 10th and interns are able to work up to 40 hours per week.
The deadline for would-be interns to sign up is May 15.
When we last spoke with the folks at CareerSource, there were a number of companies that retained the interns beyond the program.
We've reached out to get an update on that and will pass along any new information when we hear back from the non-profit.
