Kissing Teacher Takes Plea Deal, Gets Probation

Just two days before he was due to go on trial, a former Boca Raton teacher accused of kissing young students has accepted a plea deal.

28-year old Brian Kornbluth's trial was set for Thursday.  On Tuesday,, he pleaded guilty to one charge of battery.

The man was caught on surveillance video kissing a ten year old boy on the lips at Somerset Academy, a Boca Raton charter school where Kornbluth taught at the time.  That boy's sister had also been making allegations against Kornbluth, but prosecutors agreed to drop a second battery charge.

You may remember Kornbluth's story came about when kids claimed he gave them gummy bears and other candy in exchange for kisses.

The teacher's attorney says her client was sentenced to one year probation.

The lawyer told our CBS 12 partners that Kornbluth plans to continue teaching at a different school, which she says he's allowed to do while on probation.
