Two Florida-Based Navy Soldiers Honored For Saving Victims In Times Square Attack

Two soldiers based in Florida were honored by Governor Rick Scott yesterday.

David Barba and Andrew Miller helped to save pedestrians who were run over by a man at New York's Times Square last month.  An 18-year old old woman was killed and 22 others were wounded.

The soldiers were on leave when they ran through traffic, they say without hesitation, and helped three injured victims.

The men serve on the U.S.S. Iwo Jima, which is homeported at the Mayport Naval base and that's where Scott paid a visit.  Barba and Miller were awarded with the Governor's Medal of Merit.

Rick Scott is himself a Navy veteran.
