Operation Blue Roof Wraps Up

Florida homeowners with roof damage from Hurricane Irma can now sign up for temporary repairs.

Operation Blue Roof is open to residents of Palm Beach County, as well as 28 others, including all of South Florida and the Treasure Coast.

The program allows residents with less than 50 percent structural damage to remain in their homes instead of paying for hotels.  At no charge, licensed contractors will cover roofs with tarps until permanent repairs can be made.

A Palm Beach County office remains open at Walmart on Belvedere Road and State Road 7, but it closes at 6 p.m. Friday.

Residents can also sign up by calling 1-888-ROOF-BLU, before 6 p.m..

Operation Blue Roof is open to primary residences and permanently occupied rental properties.
