Florida's Jobless Rate Down 1.2% From Last Year, PBC Jobs Added Too

Hiring Gains Drop Unemployment Rate To 7.7 Percent

The unemployment rate for Florida was down to 3.7 percent in December, according to the state's Department of Economic Opportunity.  That was down from 4.9 percent a year ago. 

In Palm Beach County, the rate was down a full percentage point from December of 2017, sitting at 3.6 percent.  That's also a point 2 percent drop from November.  

The state gained 213,500 jobs over the year, an increase of 2.5 percent.
