The second medical marijuana dispensary in Lake Worth has opened.
Curaleaf is on North Dixie Highway, just down the road from Knox Medical, the first dispensary to open in the city. That one is across from City Hall. Curaleaf is across the street from charter school The Academy for Positive Learning.
The businesses are less than 200 feet away from each other, despite a state law requiring at least 500 feet between schools and marijuana dispensaries. The location was approved by the city before the law took effect.
The school's principal and some parents are concerned that the business will attract crime, since it is an all cash business.
