Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for February 1st

Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for February 1st

Bottom Line: These are the daily doses of nonsense in the media and my hot takes on them...

Hot Take: This makes the list because the writer is right and it's Goodell, the NFL and its owners that are absurd. Without numbers for a minute here's what's happened in the NFL over the past two years:

1. The league refused to let the Dallas Cowboys honor slain Dallas police officers with a patch on their uniforms

2. The league then allowed Colin Kapernick to violate the player code of conduct and protest police on the field in the form of protesting the national anthem

3. The NFL then allowed Colin Kapernick to wear clothing depicting police officers as pigs on a football field

4. The NFL then allowed other players to begin to protest the anthem in the name of black lives matter and whatever else they decided to hate

5. The NFL's ratings declined 8% but the league said it was due to the Presidential Election

6. The NFL once again allowed players to protest on the field in 2017 with whole teams deciding to protest the anthem

7. The NFL rejects a veterans group who wanted to place an ad that would have said "please stand" because - get this - Goodell says there shouldn't be political statements

8. NFL ratings drop another 10% during the 2017 season

9. Roger Goodell gets a new 5-year contract paying him $40 million per year

If that isn't absurd I don't know what is. Further, any business that's lost 20% of its customers in two years that isn't in crisis mode has lost its mind.

Hot Take: Now this is incredible - even for CNN...According to CNN's own polling 70% of State of the Union viewers were positive about President Trump's speech. So why and how does CNN have this headline? They choose to highlight only those who who "very positive" (as opposed to positive). Maybe, just maybe, it's nonsense like this that leads to CNN's ratings being less than a third of Fox News...

Until Tomorrow...
