Hot – President Trump Talks About His NRA Meeting With Governors

President Trump met with the NRA and yesterday disseminated some of that conversation while speaking to a number of U.S. governors.  Trump said he had lunch with Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox with the National Rifle Association and said “they want to do something.”  The president also criticized the deputies who were outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s Day, while alleged shooter Nikolas Cruz was killing people, and said he believes he would run in there without a gun.

President Trump on Monday slammed the “disgusting” law enforcement officers who failed to rush into the Florida high school earlier this month as a gunman slaughtered students and teachers inside, claiming he would have entered the school himself even without a firearm to stop the attacker.

“You don't know until you test it,” Trump said during a meeting with governors. “But I really believe I’d run in there even if I didn't have a weapon.”

He added: “I think most of the people in this room would have done that too because I know most of you.”
