Tracking Trump for April 5th - What the President has been up to...

Bottom Line: The President had 240 executive actions, a Supreme Court Justice and tax reform to show for his Presidency through Wednesday morning. Here's what's happened since...

In tweet related activity:

  • Our Border Laws are very weak while those of Mexico & Canada are very strong. Congress must change these Obama era, and other, laws NOW! The Democrats stand in our way - they want people to pour into our country unchecked....CRIME! We will be taking strong action today.

  • We are not in a trade war with China, that war was lost many years ago by the foolish, or incompetent, people who represented the U.S. Now we have a Trade Deficit of $500 Billion a year, with Intellectual Property Theft of another $300 Billion. We cannot let this continue!

  • Our thoughts and prayers are with the four U.S. Marines from the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing who lost their lives in yesterday’s Southern California helicopter crash. We pray for their families, and our great @USMC.

  • Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the 50th anniversary of his assassination. Earlier this year I spoke about Dr. King’s legacy of justice and peace, and his impact on uniting Americans. #MLK50 Proclamation: 45.wh.gov/DrKing50th

  • “Still Rising: Rasmussen Poll Shows Donald Trump Approval Ratings Now at 51 Percent”

In non-tweet related activity:

  • Singed an executive action continuing an Obama era emergency declaration policy regarding Somalia

  • Signed a proclamation honoring the 50th anniversary of the death of MLK JR.

Fifty years ago today, on April 4, 1968, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was tragically assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee.  Though he was taken from this earth unjustly, he left us with his legacy of justice and peace.  In remembrance of his profound and inspirational virtues, we look to do as Dr. King did while this world was privileged enough to still have him.  We must learn to live together as brothers and sisters lest we perish together as fools.  We must embrace the sanctity of life and love our neighbor as we love ourselves.  As a united people, we must see Dr. King’s life mission through and denounce racism, inhumanity, and all those things that seek to divide us.

It is not government that will achieve Dr. King’s ideals, but rather the people of this great country who will see to it that our Nation represents all that is good and true, and embodies unity, peace, and justice.

  • Singed an executive action National Defense Authorization Act ordering the National Guard to the Southern border

  • Held a private event/dinner with supporters

Until tomorrow...
