A Delta flight from Detroit has landed safely at Palm Beach International Airport after suffering from a blown tire in mid-air.
Flight 1930 was brought down onto the tarmac just after 11 a.m. and an airport spokeswoman says crews responded to what is called a "Level 2" alert. That indicates a mechanical malfunction of some kind.
Crews could be seen examining the right rear inner tire of the plane. No injuries were reported.
This happened on the heels of a Southwest Airlines flight from Laguardia Airport in New York en route to Dallas making an emergency landing in Philadelphia on Tuesday after an engine explosion broke a window and killed a woman.
There were reports of another Southwest flight having to be brought back to Nashville Wednesday after a bird strike. There were no injuries in that incident.
