A Park Vista High School student has been arrested for bringing an unloaded gun onto campus.
The principal sent a recorded phone message to parents Wednesday morning, informing them of the incident.
He says school staff members observed the student behaving in an odd manner and school police searched both the student and his belongings. That's when the handgun was recovered from a backpack.
It was confiscated immediately and the student was taken into the custody of law enforcement.
