Caravan at the border gives progressives the perfect chance to virtue signal

Pictures emerged yesterday showing the migrant caravan arriving at the southern border of the United States — migrants who had fled countries in Central America, afraid for their lives in countries shorn by death, poverty and violence. The photos showed the “asylum-seekers” attacking the metal gate dividing the border, climbing it and, once they got to the top of it, they were so overjoyed that they waved flags in the air.

But the flags they waved weren’t American flags. No, they were the flags of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador. If the countries are so awful that they felt the need to leave, why wave the flag and demand entrance to America?

And, how arrogant. “Let us in, we want to bring our worn-torn country into yours, and we don’t want to deal with all that pesky paperwork and red tape needed for legal migration. Also, we’re going to need you to replace your flag with ours. And your language. And we’re not going to address the actual problems that landed us in this situation to begin with.”

As we all know, President Trump has been adamant about stopping this caravan from entering into the country — deploying the National Guard to various parts of the border.

“I have instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security not to let these large Caravans of people into our Country. It is a disgrace. We are the only Country in the World so naive! WALL,” Trump wrote.

“Naturally, the progressives have seized the opportunity to signal their virtue.”

Naturally, the progressives have seized the opportunity to signal their virtue. They see the immigrants as sad-eyed puppies who have a right to come to this country, which shines as a beacon of hope to these poor, oppressed people. In the same breath, they’ll scowl about America as racist, sexist, bigoted, xenophobic — a hell hole, full of oppression.

Which one is it? The answer is fairly obvious, they just won’t say it aloud. Like all those celebrities who swore during the 2016 election that if Trump got elected, they were leaving.

They meant it. They were serious! Every single one of them still lives in America. Most of them live in giant homes surrounded by massive walls.
