Tropical Storm Gordon is making its way toward the Mississippi-Louisiana border and is expected to be a Category 1 hurricane by the time it gets there Tuesday night.
At 11 a.m., the storm was 145 miles East-southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River. It's putting out maximum sustained winds of 65 mph and moving Northwest at 15 mph.

The National Hurricane Center is also watching Florence, which is now the third hurricane of the Atlantic season. Florence is more than 1,200 miles East-northeast of the Lesser Antilles. It's moving West-northwest over the open Atlantic and is not expected to affect land.
Finally, there is a wave just off the coast of Africa that bears watching. It has a 70% chance of development over the next five days, but it's way too early to know where this system may head.
