WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS 12) — Leslie is expected to meander over the central Atlantic for the next several days.
Leslie is located 720 miles E/NE of Bermuda with maximum sustained winds around 50 mph.
Leslie is moving W/SW at 5 mph
Some gradual strengthening is forecast during the next 72 hours and the storm is expected to briefly become a category 1 hurricane
Swells generated by Leslie will affect Bermuda, the east coast of the United States, and most of the Greater and Lesser Antilles during the next day or two.
These swells will likely cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions. Eventually, Leslie will be picked up by a cold front and start moving to the NE later in the week.
