Hurricane Michael Near Category 3, With "Life Threatening" Storm Surge

We've been reporting that Hurricane Michael is forecast to be a major storm of Category 3 or higher when it makes landfall tomorrow in Florida's panhandle. 

As of the 11 a.m. update from the National Hurricane Center, it's almost htere.  The storm is a strong Category 2 hurricane with 110 mile per hour maximum sustained winds.  If those winds pick up to 111 mph, it would register as a Category 3 majory hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale.

Michael is about 360 miles south of Panama City and its moving north at 12 miles per hour. 

Storm surge is expected to be life threatening, up to 12 feet in some areas.
