One month in DeSantis delivers

One month in DeSantis delivers

Bottom Line: The Governor’s initial approval ratings two weeks in showed some thing pretty remarkable. He’d grown his approval rating from a +5% on Election Day to +31% after just two weeks on the job. Some thought it might have just been the initial honeymoon effect along with the initial decisiveness to move on key issues but two weeks later the feeling remains the same.

Not only is Governor DeSantis the most popular politician in Florida, his net approval rating stands at a +30% mark after his first full month in office according to the latest polling from FAU. And he has solid support on many of the big moves he’s made early.

On the environment: +49%

Education: +31%

Of course, the governor has also been busy with...

3 Supreme Court Justices

3 Suspended/Replaced Public officials

Executive action on medical marijuana policy

Anyway, being busy/productive is one thing. Making your constituents, Floridians, happy with those decisions is potentially another. In Ron’s case he's doing both and maintaining the initial momentum he built in his first couple of weeks. It’s unlikely he’ll be able to maintain that type of support over the longer run but even if his rating were a third of where it is today – that'd be a solid rating. Ron’s net rating currently places him as the ninth most popular governor in the country. Not bad for a month on the job in the most evenly divided state politically in the country.
