  • Florida’s AG intends to argue the case against the “Ban Assault Weapons Now” ballot language initiative when the Florida Supreme Court considers the measure. Ashley called the ballot initiative clearly and conclusively defective.
  • Five pilot wales which beached themselves on Florida’s Gulf coast near Redington beach. Two of the whales were led back into the water while the others are being tested and treated to determine if the pod is sick
  • Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle proposed a plan Monday that would require ex-felons unable to pay restitution to gain fast-track status for a legal review to attempt to obtain restoration of voting rights. The ex-felons would have to provide proof to the court of financial hardship and appeal for rights to be restored. 
  • Five businesses impacted by the Fort Lauderdale water-main break are now suing FPL and Florida Communication Concepts, the subcontractor doing the work at the time of the water-main break.
  • Officials from Broward and Miami-Dade are close to proposing a 20-mile monorail that’d connect the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens with Northwest 27th Ave and I-595 in Broward. This is separate from the monorail proposal that’d connect to Miami Beach.
