The city of Delray Beach had three drive-through distribution centers for residents to collect sandbags and tarps before Hurricane Dorian hits.

The distribution site opened at 8 a.m. on Friday. Some people waited hours to get bags.

Staff from the Delray Beach Parks & Recreation Department, The Delray Beach Police Department, Delray Beach Fire Rescue and Delray Beach Public Works handed out up to eight sand bags and one tarp per vehicle at the following locations:

The Delray Beach Golf Course, 2200 Highland Ave, Delray Beach

Pompey Park, 1101 N.W. 2 St., Delray Beach

Anchor Park, 50 NW 1st Ave, Delray Beach

The event was for Delray Beach residents only.

Police checked ID's of people picking up supplies.

Most of the supplies were handed out within the first 90 minutes, but officials were planning to get more.
