Each day I’ll feature a listener question that’s been submitted by one of these methods.

Today’s entry...

Joe Biden: “nobody should be in jail for a nonviolent crime.”

Irresponsible pandering. Sounds sweet yet drug trafficking, embezzlement, fraud, etc DOES harm and deserves punishment of incarnation.@brianmuddradio

Bottom Line: This is the hottest button topic I’ve heard about since the third Democratic debate. So much so that not only have I received notes in email & social media, but even multiple people who came out for Bahamas relief efforts on Friday talked me about how outraged they were/are about what the Democratic field was proposing regarding prison reform. And specifically, what Joe Biden, the perceived front-runner and alleged “moderate” of the group. Had to say.

When Joe Biden wasn’t talking about kids playing record players at night, yes that happened too, he had this to say:“nobody should be in jail for a nonviolent crime.”

But unlike his general lack awareness of musical technology and changes in distribution since the 1960’s, this was clearly an advanced policy position idea as he passionately made the case along with other 2020 Democrats making similar jaw-dropping types of policy proclamations. I’d agree this was a cheap pandering effort aimed at attempting to appeal to Black Democrat primary voters – by all of the candidates – which itself is extremely demeaning... The best crime deterrent for anyone, minority or non-minority, in our country is a stable family unit, an education and a job opportunity. With record low minority unemployment rates and record wages, President Trump’s economic policy is proving to be the best “prison reform” policy the US has ever enacted. But back to the Biden proposal.

Yes, in Joe Biden’s world – Bernie Madoff wouldn’t have had any jail time. That means thieves who steal your identity, your home and your life savings wouldn’t have any jail time. That would mean that the thieves who break into your home stealing your sense of security and positions wouldn’t have any jail time. Using the FBI’s database, “non-violent” crime accounts for about 86% of all prosecuted crime in the United States (1.2 million violent crimes vs. 7.7 million non-violent crimes). Imagine if we released 86% of the criminals in our prisons back out into society, but that’sin essence what’s being proposed here.

There really aren’t words to describe the extent to which Joe Biden’s proposed policy is reckless and dangerous. This is the epitome of a politician being willing to say or do anything to get elected. If you want Bernie Madoff and 86% of criminals released back into our neighbors today vote for Joe Biden or another 2020 Democrat. If you don’t the choice has never been clearer.
