  • Boca Raton’s City Council approved the proposed Brightline station to be built downtown next to the city library. Boca approved a deal that will pay Brightline installment payments for a 400-space parking garage that will total just over $12 million. Brightline intends to have the station operational by the end of 2020.
  • Palm Beach County’s 21st Congressional District has the highest percentage of Fox News viewers in the country according to Morning Consult with over 47% of the district viewing Fox News weekly. Florida’s 11th, 12th and 25th districts are all in the top ten nationally as well.  
  • The Navy has suspended the foreign training program with Saudi Arabians after Friday’s terror attack. 300 trainees are affected including 140 at the Pensacola base. Other Saudi trainees were known to have engaged with the attacker’s social media postings and “watch party” of mass shootings the night before the attack. 
  • In response to the attack, Navy pilots stationed in Pensacola have requested the ability to be armed on base. The base is a “gun free zone” with all weapons stored in the armory. 
  • A phony non-profit operating predominantly out of Broward called “Foster’s Care”, which alleged to be aiding victims of human trafficking was instead luring vulnerable women into trafficking. William Foster who operated the bogus organization was arrested and charged with numerous counts of trafficking dating back to 2014.
