2 Port St. Lucie Teens Killed In Car Crash, A Third Is Clinging To Life

Two Treasure Coast teens are dead following a weekend crash in Port St. Lucie.

16-year olds Christian Bono and Nehemiah Turban were killed in the Saturday night accident that happened near the intersection of Southwest Heatherwood and Southwest California Boulevards.

15-year old Matthew Bono is hospitalized in critical condition and said to be fighting for his life.

A preliminary investigation revealed the three boys were in a 2003 Toyota Camry, traveling southbound on the 2000 block of Southwest California Boulevard.

Police said they were driving too fast to negotiate a slight right-hand curve.

The vehicle crossed over the opposing traffic lane and struck a large cement power pole on the east side of the roadway.

Bono (the driver) and Turban (the front seat passenger) were pronounced dead at the scene.

The third victim (the rear seat passenger) was taken by St Lucie County Fire Rescue to a local hospital with severe injuries.

St Lucie County Fire/Rescue assisted with extinguishing the fire and extricated the rear seat passenger from inside of the vehicle.

This incident is actively being investigated by Port St Lucie Police Traffic Homicide Investigators.
