Radio City Christmas Spectacular Canceled For The First Time Ever

2010 Radio City Christmas Spectacular Kick Off

Radio City Music Hall will be quiet this holiday season because the annual Christmas Spectacular has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is the first time the show has been canceled since it debuted in 1933 with the high-kicking Rockettes.

"We regret that the 2020 production of the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes, presented by Chase, has been canceled due to continued uncertainty associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. We are disappointed for everyone involved with the show, as well as for the many fans who make the Christmas Spectacular a cherished part of their holiday tradition," MSG Entertainment said in a statement.

While the show has undergone some changes over the years, the Rockettes still perform the iconic dance number Parade of the Wooden Soldiers and the Living Nativity from the original show in 1933.

MSG said they will refund all tickets that have been purchased and have already started selling tickets for the 2021 show.
