Florida Health Director To County Commission: Holidays Will Mean More COVID

Palm Beach County's health director is sounding the alarm about the likelihood that COVID-19 cases will continue to surge.

"We've got three crises all happening at the same time. We've got the spike, we've got the second wave upon us and we also have the holiday seasons upon us."

Dr. Alina Alonso also told county commissioners on Tuesday that out-of-towners are proving to be a problem when it comes to contact tracing.

And she says this is the season when travelers will bring the coronavirus with them.

"These people are going to be coming from v ery high areas where the virus is very rabid so we expect to have those people coming here and testing positive and spreading it."
