Palm Beach County's Chief Judge Has The Coronavirus

The latest high-profile Palm Beach County resident to test positive for COVID-19 is Chief Judge Krista Marx.

Marx says she and her husband have had little to no symptoms so far. They are both quarantining and working from home.

She and Circuit Judge Joseph Marx contracted the coronavirus this month, as the courts continue to reopen slowly. Precautions are in place for jury trials and in-person hearings, which have started back up after a seven month hiatus due to the pandemic.

In order to enter a courthouse in Palm Beach County, everyone must wear a mask, have no symptoms of the virus and undergo temperature checks.

Over the summer, Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg had COVID-19. Around the same time, County Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks also tested positive.

Both have since recovered fully.
