- Florida reported just under 15,000 new daily reported COVID cases on Tuesday, Florida’s daily average trend for cases stands to 15,900 per day over the past week. A rise in cases has continued in every zip code in South Florida.
- Florida immunized 49,000 Floridians on Tuesday with a COVID vaccine. The Florida Department of Health’s tracker now shows 597,000 Floridians who’ve received at least a first dose of a COVID vaccine. Approximately 51,000 people have received two doses completing the vaccination process - an increase over 11,000 over the past day.
- On back of reports for the potential for civil unrest nationwide leading up to the inauguration of Joe Biden as president, Governor DeSantis said: If anything is disorderly, we’re going to act very quickly. The FDLE put out the following statement: We are aware of the information regarding possible protests and violence at state capitols. FDLE and Capitol Police continue to monitor the national situation and analyze information relevant to public safety. We regularly collaborate with our federal, state and local partners to discuss and implement security measures that enhance public safety at Florida’s Capitol.
- According to a new study from Visit Florida, Florida has netted a positive ROI from Visit Florida. The study tracked ROI from marketing efforts for a three-year period starting July 1st, 2016 finding the state brought in $3.27 in revenue for every dollar spent through marketing. This reflects what then Governor, Rick Scott, said of the program as he worked to retain it in state budgets. This is especially timely given budget challenges entering this year’s state session in March.
