Mayor Kerner Calls For Moment Of Silence In Honor Of Fallen PBSO Employees

Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner started Thursday's COVID-19 update with a moment of silence for the local members of law enforcement lost to the coronavirus.

"I spoke with some senior leadership at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and that we've had over the course of COVID-19 seven PBSO employees pass away from COVID-19. The most recent employee that passed away last week was under the age of 50. We've had five employees in PBSO who were 49 or younger and one was in their thirties."

The Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook this week:

"It is with profound sadness that we inform our PBSO family and friends of the loss of Deputy Carlos Hernandez."

The post notes that the deputy began his law enforcement career at the sheriff's office in 2002 and will be remembered as a kind and caring man who enjoyed his career.

It features a photo of Deputy Hernandez with Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.
