  • After a month-long increase in coronavirus cases coinciding with Spring Break schedules, Florida’s COVID-19 trend improved for a third straight day. Florida’s averaged just over 6,000 daily cases over the past week, an improvement of about 200 cases per day over a week ago. Related...
  • 10% of Florida’s population has now tested positive for COVID-19 as 2.15 million Floridians have tested positive for the coronavirus since the onset of the pandemic. With 34,712 deaths attributed to the virus, approximately 1.6% of all Floridians diagnosed with the virus have died. 
  • Over 8.3 million Floridians, or about 39% of the state’s total population have been vaccinated with at least a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. This includes over 5.4 million who’ve now completed a vaccine series. 
  • Citing unnamed sources, Politico is reporting a deal between Governor DeSantis and the Seminole Tribe regarding gamming has been reached and is pending legal review. If true, it’s expected this would settle the Seminole Compact and would bring sports betting to Florida. In 2019 DeSantis and tribal leaders were rumored to have been close to a deal prior to the end of the session.
