It's expected to be a busy Memorial Day weekend on our local waterways, so the officers with the Boynton Beach Police Marine Unit held a Facebook Live event to tout boating safety.
Officer Gregg Koch explains why these holidays are always a concern.
"We see a lot of boaters who don't have that much time out on the water, or they haven't used their boat, jetski or even kayak or paddleboard in quite a while and they put themselves in situations that they're not familiar with. And the high traffic brings more of an issue and multiplies the problems that they could have on the water."
