  • Florida’s first ballots for November's Presidential election cycle have been sent out to voters. Under federal law eligible overseas voters are to be sent ballots 45 days in advance of an election. Saturday was the deadline for the ballots to be sent to those who’d requested them.  
  • Governor DeSantis announced $18 million in grants has been awarded to five transportation projects prioritized by the Florida Department of Transportation across the state. This includes rail and port projects in Lake City, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Plant City and Tampa Bay.  
  • Supporters of a previously planned Brightline station in Stuart, which city officials abruptly brought to an end recently, will hold a rally at four this afternoon at the Stuart Riverwalk Stage. The “Save our Stuart Station” rally comes in advance of the Stuart City Commission meeting which is scheduled for 6:30.  
  • A nearly 11-foot-long alligator spotted on the beach at Singer Island Saturday morning was successfully captured and removed by Florida Fish and Wildlife. The Gator was first spotted in the Lost Tree Country Club on Friday and by Saturday morning it had made its way to the beach.  
  • It’ll be hot today and mostly sunny with showers possible later in the day and highs in the upper 80’s. Temperatures will be about 4 degrees warmer than usual for this date. A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect during high tide today as we’re into the final day of the current King Tide schedule. The National Hurricane Center is tracking two systems. A disturbance in the Caribbean Sea is likely to develop and threaten Florida’s Gulf Coast as a Tropical Storm or hurricane over the next week. A second disturbance is off the coast of Africa and is also likely to develop as it makes its way towards the mid-Atlantic.  
  • Gas prices are flat over a week ago. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.13 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.29 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.16 and in Indian River County the average is $3.06 per gallon.
