  • Governor DeSantis held his third roundtable of the week to discuss his agenda to combat illegal immigration. In yesterday’s roundtable, with Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, DeSantis once again promised a veto of the legislature’s so-called TRUMP Act this week and renewed calls for his proposals which include creating a state immigration officer under the direction of the governor and mandatory law enforcement participation in ICE’s 287(g) among other initiatives.   • The illegal immigration crackdown by the Trump administration has led to the arrests and detention of dozens of illegal immigrants in Indian River County. On Thursday a joint operation between ICE and the Indian River County Sheriff’s office led to the arrests of 8 criminal illegal immigrants with the detention of dozens of others who were in close proximity to the targets. 
  • West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James delivered the city’s annual “State of the City” address touting a 12% decrease in crime over the past year. The mayor talked up the expansion of affordable housing within the city while acknowledging the ongoing and growing homeless population problem that’s been plaguing the city.  
  • Today will be the warmest day in weeks. After starting in the 60’s we’ll have partly cloudy skies and highs near 80 - warmer than usual for this date. Similar weather is expected over the next week.  
  • Gas prices dropped another two cents per gallon on Thursday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.11 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.24 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.04 and in Indian River County the average is $3.11 per gallon.
