Arizona Man Who Sold Ammo to Vegas Shooter Sentenced to Federal Prison

Las Vegas Mourns After Largest Mass Shooting In U.S. History

An Arizona man who sold ammo used in the worst mass shooting in U.S. history has been sentenced to 13 months in federal prison. Douglas Haig, who received the sentence Tuesday in federal court, has been charged with illegally manufacturing and selling ammunition, which he sold to Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock.

However back in 2018, Haig had claimed that the ammo he sold to Paddock was not used in the mass shooting...

“Doug had no knowledge of what Paddock was planning to do,” defense attorney Marc Victor said on Monday.

The 57-year-old has been ordered to self-surrender by October 2nd, at which time he'll begin serving his sentence, according to court documents. The judge also sentenced Haig to three years' probation, which he'll begin upon completion of his prison sentence. And now that he's a convicted felon, he can no longer possess weapons or ammunition.

Paddock is accused of murdering at least 58 people and injuring hundreds of others when he opened fire on a crowd attending a Las Vegas country music festival on October 1st, 2017.
