Gallup - Record economic confidence in the US:
Bottom Line: Ho hum, another economic data point another surge. Maybe this is what Trump was referencing when he said we'd get tired of winning? Kidding (mostly)... Gallup's most recent economic confidence survey turned out a record result. Here were the highlights:
- +16 points over the prior week's survey
- +28 points since the election
- Record high for Gallup's index
So just how much has the change of 28 points influenced the average American's outlook? On a scale with zero being neutral - the average American's confidence was negative 12 prior to the election and is positive 16 today. This is consistent with all other economic indicators we've received of late, including consumer confidence which is currently at a 16 and a half year high. Despite the negativity in the media, record highs in the stock market along with an improving jobs picture, rising wages and significantly enhanced business confidence are carrying through to all aspects of our economy.
