The new #1 beverage of choice reflects much healthier trends:
Bottom Line: What do you drink the most (potentially aside from coffee that is...)? Once upon a time - not so long ago - the answer would have been soda. Today it's potentially carbonated but generally just good old H20 (often with a twist).
According to Beverage Digest here's the average Americans bottled water consumption overtime:
1986: 5 gallons
1996: 11 gallons
2006: 21 gallons
2016: 39.3 gallons
Last year was the first year on record in which water topped soda as the average American's consumption totaled 38.5 gallons. Given that most of the water is no cal or low cal - this is often a healthier overall choice as we're becoming much more hydrated and are drinking fewer calories.
