Do you Uber or Lyft? How rapidly the services have become a staple of our society:
Bottom Line: If you haven't used a ride sharing service, there's a good chance that someone in your house has. The latest research from Statistica shows that 30% of Americans (with smart phones) have used a ride sharing app. That's pretty impressive penetration by the ride-share services within just a few years of national penetration. That being said the US isn't the ride sharing leader. We're actually 6th in the world currently. The following countries have even greater use:
- Brazil: 33%
- Spain: 35%
- Russia: 38%
- Mexico: 46%
- China: 51%
So more than half of the Chinese are currently using ride share services. The significant difference between the US and the countries ahead of us in penetration of the services - is car ownership. The top five countries have much lower car ownership than the US which is the biggest reason for the disparity.
