There's something to be said for the Florida lifestyle but we're more stressed out than most:

Bottom Line: WalletHub's out with their latest interesting research on how much stress we're carrying around with us broken out state by state.

To determine the states with the highest stress levels, WalletHub’s analysts compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 33 metrics. Here are some of the high/low points... Stress Levels in Florida (1=Most Stressed, 25=Avg.):

  • 30th – Job Security
  • 27th – Avg. Hours Worked per Week
  • 22nd – Share of Adults Getting Adequate Sleep
  • 18th – % of Adults in Fair/Poor Health
  • 17th – Median Credit Score
  • 17th – % of Population Living Below Poverty Line
  • 14th – Crime Rate per Capita
  • 7th – Housing Affordability
  • 3rd – Divorce Rate

So we work a little more than most, sleep a little less than most, have better job security than most but we get divorced a lot more than most, battle above average crime & we all know the cost of paradise isn't cheap. Put it all together and we're the 13th most stressed out state of people in the country. Btw, there's something to be said for the mid-west. The five least stressed out states are Utah, South Dakota, Iowa, North Dakota & Minnesota.
