Job creation hits a record high in Gallup's research:
Bottom Line: Fresh off of the ADP Report which showed the best March for job growth since 2006 - we have another indicator that suggests the job growth momentum is the best it's been in at least a decade (that's how long Gallup has maintained a job creation index). Here's the info:
Gallup's job creation index over time:
Today: +37
February: +35
Avg. of prior eight years: +15
Recession: -5
End of 2007: +26
Also of note is that 46% of companies are hiring according to this index. That's up from 44% in February and suggests that momentum is still building.
