Bottom Line: For years the University of Florida has ranked as the top overall value for Floridians based on research from Kiplinger, Forbes & US News & World Report among others. While UF may be the best overall value - the entire state as a whole provides outstanding value. According to new research from, The College Board, Florida's the 2nd best value in the US. Only Montana has better overall value. Here are the highlights:
- Average in-state tuition and fees: $6,360
- Average out-of-state tuition and fees: $21,570
- Five-year change: 6 percent
So it's notable that in-state tuition is an average of about $15,000 less than out-of-state tuition and that the effort by the Scott administration to reign in cost increases has been highly successful, with well below inflation level increases of just 6% over the previous five years.
