Immigration scorecard - The Trump administration's initial record on combating illegal immigration:

Bottom Line: The President was quite clear with regard to his intent to enforce US immigration laws already on the books. The initial 60 days of the Trump administration show that appears to be true. During President Trump's first 60 days/two months in office 21,362 illegal immigrants were taken into custody for processing. Of the 21,362 illegal immigrants detained, 15,921 were criminal illegal immigrants (meaning they'd been charged for a crime but released rather than being deported). 5,441 illegal immigrants were processed that weren't criminals aside from being illegal immigrants. So how do those numbers compare?

During the same 60 day window in 2016, just 2500 illegal immigrants were processed. That means that there has been an 854% increase in cracking down on illegal immigration by the Trump administration thus far with a clear focus on the criminal immigrants that the President promised to pursue on the trail (with 75% of the illegal immigrants processed being criminal illegal immigrants). I'll keep you posted overtime as to how the administration is handling illegal immigrant policy. Despite not having the wall yet, it is clear that between the decline in illegal traffic at the southern border in-conjunction with significantly enhanced enforcement by ICE, there's been a meaningful shift policy. More to come...
