Surprise...The latest political party ID shows more Republicans than Democrats:
Bottom Line: I'd imagine that most people would be surprised to hear that there are 4% more self-ID'd Republicans in May as compared to April, or that there are more Republicans than Democrats nationally at the moment (given the news cycle)...but that's the case according to May's Gallup report.
In April here was the party ID according to Gallup's research:
- Democrats: 28%
- Independents: 44%
- Republicans: 25%
And in May:
- Democrats: 28%
- Independents: 40%
- Republicans: 29%
