Tracking Trump - The President's approval for June 16th:

Bottom Line: This is one of two weekly tracking stories to get a reality/temperature check with regard to what's really going on with public opinion of the PresidentIn this series we'll track the high point, low point and current ratings and week over week comparisons.

  • Trump's current ratings: 40.5% approval and 56.25% disapprove: -15.75% (6/9/17)

  • Trump highest approval ratings were an average 45.2% approval and 43% disapproval +2.2% (1/27/17)

  • Trump's current ratings: 41.75% approval and 54.25% disapprove: -12.5%

Believe it or not it was actually a decent week for the President. After hitting a low last week for his Presidency, Trump actually bounced back by greater than 3% this week. That matters for one very important reason...Comey. What this number tells you is that all of the media hype about the Comey show didn't materialize in the minds of many Americans after the actual testimony. It's also notable to watch what happens next. It's altogether possible that the President has bottomed and some Americans that are casual observers of the news, and thus still potentially influenced by the slanderous noise out of much of the media. President Trump defeated the media in addition to Hillary Clinton last fall. This week it appears he come out ahead of James Comey and the media.

That being said...This is still about healthcare and tax reform & the President should park himself in Congress until they get done.

The variance between pollsters was the most consistent they've been during the Trump administration this week. The range was the Rasmussen -6% to Gallup -19%

Until next week...
