Hysterical Media Headlines for July 6th:
Bottom Line: I've ID'd some in the media as generally being Godless, soulless and slanderous (the Godless/soulless thing is a theory...The slanderous part - that's pretty real). I've decided to grab some of the most outrageous headlines to illustrate the point of just how outrageous it's become. Here are today's examples. For my commentary on these headlines click the audio below.
Ruth Ben-Ghiat, CNN
Charles Stile, The Record
David Marcus, New York Times
Adam Peck, Think Progress
Nero raised taxes to expand public works projects, freely executed political opposition (including eventually his own mother) and likely set Rome on fire in an effort to eradicate Christianity from the Roman Empire. And that's just scratching the surface of his tyranny. While most probably don't really get the Nero reference other than it being meant as a slight, the author of the article on Chris Christie likely knew exactly what he was doing. It's illustrative of the depths of depravity within media covering all with whom they disagree politically. It's true that Chris Christie's approval ratings are the worst of any governor. It's true that I could do without beach pics of him. But seriously?
The material here is amazing and wonderful in it's absurdity simultaneously. Once again, if you look at these through the prism of Donald Trump being President, and more elected Republicans serving in the United States since the 1920's...it's pretty hilarious! The air of desperation, advocacy and instructions for their "resistance" is comical. These people really do take themselves completely seriously!
