Hysterical Media (Funny or Absurd) Headlines for July 19th:
Bottom Line: I've ID'd some in the media as generally being Godless, soulless and slanderous (the Godless/soulless thing is a theory...The slanderous part - that's pretty real). I've decided to grab some of the most outrageous headlines to illustrate the point of just how outrageous it's become. Here are today's examples. For my commentary on these headlines click the audio below.
- All the Presidents' Dirty Tricks John Dickerson, The Atlantic
- DeVos May Undermine Sexual Assault Protections Eliza Schultz, Baltimore Sun
- Trump Justice: Presumed Guilty Unless You're Family Ellis Cose, USA Today
Excerpt from the article (which was written by a senior ACLU official):
Part of me would give just about anything to see that same standard applied to Trump and his family. Why bother with a special counsel, with an investigation, with processes that will cost innocent taxpayers millions when we know in our hearts they are guilty — of something? Why not just lock the crooks away? The answer, of course, is that unlike Trump, most Americans actually believe that fairness and the presumption of innocence count for something and believe that there is value in giving possibly innocent people the benefit of the doubt.
Now this is the same ACLU that turned a blind eye to President Obama's public presumption of guilt against the Duke Lacrosse team, or the Trayvon Martin case, or the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, or the handling of the Freddie Gray case in Baltimore. There are actual a myrid of other examples but you get the point. On one hand you have no evidence of anything illegally done by the President's family and there's outrage that President Trump has point fingers at perceived impropriety, while defending his own family. On the other hand you have an ACLU and news media that willingly choose to fan the flames of dishonesty, race baiting, anti-police sentiment, and hatred in this country for people who were actually proven to be innocent in the court of law. Hypocrisy is just the tip of the iceberg for these people...
The material here is amazing and wonderful in it's absurdity simultaneously. Once again, if you look at these through the prism of Donald Trump being President, and more elected Republicans serving in the United States since the 1920's...it's pretty hilarious! The air of desperation, advocacy and instructions for their "resistance" is comical. These people really do take themselves completely seriously!
